Hopeless

Hopeless

The word that defines this generation

Bound by insecurity

Rolling with fear

One cannot live without self-appearance

Self-deprivation

Self-loathing

For I feared once

Hiding behind filters

Blending within every clique

But now I see

That given the insecurities of the public

Given the experience of relationships

Of jealousy

Of anger

I will conquer my fears

Conquer my shadows

Shine a new light

My light

For I am myself and nobody else

The public will see the new me

The real me

And I will spend every day helping people expose themselves

This is the new generation
