Hopeless

Poem June 8 2024

Hopeless

Where is joy?

Gone away today

Missing the past

Seeing the past through realistic eyes

Illusions gone

The past I dreamt gone

Joy gone

Hopeless

Today I stand on sand

Chaos on every side

I am to be the one who brings order

I am to defeat chaos

But it is a striving after wind

I see defeat everywhere

I can delay it but not evade it.

Hopeless

The future seems dark.

The dominos are falling.

The answers are problems.

The problems have no answers.

Hopeless

Yet

There is the ONE

The ONE who defeated death

The ONE who made death a way of having HOPE.

The ONE who has promised chaos will not win.

The ONE who is the way, truth, and life.

HE is the ONE hope.
