Hopeless Concern

Leading questions
Adoration, venoration
for the idea of making
it all better
As if that is possible
She sees through the
obvious barrier that I
am slowly breaking
down as we speak.
At first, the questions
were not direct
Only hints and
suggestions.
But my pain grew
My sighs became
silent screams.
She noticed the
change in me
The alter of mood
The hitting of the
rubber bands against
the inside of my
frail little wrist
The way that I
would disconnect
and complain
right in front of her
And act utterly
insane
Outlandish and
out of my mind
She knew that
laughter had no
place in my life.

And I wanted
her to.
