Hoping to be Free
I am coloured
Held back by the chains of discrimination,
Crushed by the rocks of segregation,
Hoping to be free.
Free from the undignified separation of groups,
From the divided communities.
Broken by the heavy tree of judgement,
Flowered with the leaves of prejudice,
Hoping to be free.
Hoping to be happy.
Hoping to be together.
Hoping to be one.
