Horizon

I can't seem to let go

Of everything I am sure has abandoned me

And I cannot seem to hold on

To everything I am sure should never leave

I cannot seem to hear

The music in the rythm of traffic

But I cannot seem to block out

The voices telling me to quit

I cannot seem to see

The ones that love me

I cannot seem to go blind

To the shadows around the bend

I cannot seem to live life

The way I am supposed to

The way I want to

But I keep scanning the horizon

For fear I might miss the shore
