The Horrors of Life

Beautiful trees, swaying in the breeze;

Peaceful and content, resting at ease;

Bulldozers speeding, speeding faster and faster;

Obeying the rules, the rules of their master;

When the master says crush, that’s what they do;

For those types of people are ignorant with a lack of clue;

Beautiful trees, still swaying in the breeze;

Peaceful and content, resting at ease;

Down goes one, then one more;

Soon we are down to a group of four;

They can not run, they can not hide;

Rooted to the ground, unable to fight;

Watching as their loved ones, are swept from the ground;

Not a word from their “mouths”, not a word, not a sound;

A beautiful tree, still swaying in the breeze;

Peaceful, yet sad, resting at ease;
