The Horse

The horse in meadows graze by streams that flow. The sunshine gleams off dew the night has laid And rays of dawn that light the mist aglow With grass that sways in breezes through the glade. The horse has power strong in muscles lean. A silky mane of silver wrapped in braid. Her mind can rival ours with senses keen. A coat as black as night will never fade. The horse, a blur that streaks across the ground And gallops toward a setting sun so bright. The sky ablaze as hooves set course homebound. In stalls to stay till morn while shines no light. The horse, in glory, steals the hearts of all To live with people's love, to charm, enthrall.
