Hostage In Your Heart

1. I wish I could fly freely over to you.

Without having to worry about the departure of my heart.

The take off of my mind.

The blast off of our fondest memories.

2. I wish I could talk to you like I used to.

Sing to you the sincerity of my love,

not for who you are now,

but for who you used to be.

3. I constantly picture the girl you left me for.

The way you call her the same pet names you called me,

use the same warm hearted words you used on me.

4. If I could,

I would staple my heart to a white flag and surrender it to you.

I would rip out all the memories that you planted in my mind.

5. You make me feel as if to you,

I was a toy that Santa brought you last Christmas.

Used and forgotten.

6. You remind me of myself,

If I was a cheap, narcissistic, litter-filled, rich boy,

who didn't know how to commit to one person.

7. If I ever see that chick you left me broken for,

I will slam her head in dog shit 5 times and throw her to the sharks.

8. I know it's unfair to have so much hatred for a women who I have never even seen,

But if you had the rug ripped out from under you with no floor underneath

where would you land?

9. It's hard to think with a puddle, a river, a lake, a damn ocean,

of tears streaming through the  living room,

with small boats of memories floating past.

10. I can't go into my bedroom without remembering our most intimate moments,

that I had thought was love making,

but you saw it as "fucking."

I can't help but picture you doing the same with that women.

Maybe we should rip your heart out and check to see who had it first,

we should dig through your mind to see if I was ever on it.

If only you could see my mind belongs to you.

Written somewhere on the front page of my heart reads,

"This heart belongs to Jordan *****. If it falls into the hands of another,

please return to me at 801-***-****."

Can you ever let me escape?

Be free of my own thoughts.

Because how fair is it to keep me hostage in the back of your heart with the key already thrown away.

With me thrown away...
