Hot Chocolate with My Sister

The car zipped through the woods And finally stopped at a yellow house with a pink bike in the driveway. We pulled in and parked. It was time for introductions. A fair girl with short blonde hair ran out of the house, Eager to make a best friend. She ran up to the car and said hello And complimented my plush Minnie Mouse. “Do you want some hot chocolate?” We made our way into the house And started to play Barbies in harmony, With the rich scent of cocoa in the air. A few years later our parents would wed. We walked down the aisle in little white dresses And flowers in hand. “We’re finally sisters,” she said. That day, I never knew what time would hold, My sister and I still close after all the years. Now we recall these times over a few beers. I will still remember this day when I am old.
