hot room

my room is hot

everytime a family member enters through the open door,

they exclaim

"oh it's too hot in here!"

they would either leave the room

or

pestingly turn on the grey, steel fan

when i'm perfectly fine with the temperature of my

hot room.

even though my room is hot,

to other people that is,

i still curl my toes under my blanket,

and tuck myself,

including my spine,

into my comfortable office chair,

while resting my legs on my bed.

the window blinds are opened and lifted,

and a plant is seated on the ledge.

and the growing flower doesn't wilt

under the sun's glare.
