An Hour Until Midnight
Sadie,
It is an hour until midnight
Our day is almost gone
We don’t discuss it
But we both know the clock is ticking on
This end is not abrupt
We have known it would occur
I guess we got distracted from the fun
that our day had in store
When we met at dawn
I was so delighted
We spent our day laughing, playing
I see now that I was so nearsighted
But now it is late
There is not much left to go
We sit in silence
It is almost time to go home
Our departure is not by choice
If so, we’d choose to stay
We would enjoy our company
And enjoy our merry day
But it is an hour until midnight
Our day is almost gone
And once again we will feel
the feelings of being alone
