Hourglass

baby take off your cool

lay it across the bed

fold it tightly

and tuck it neatly

away

because there is no room

for egos here

no space

for boastin' and braggin'

no air

for fake in my space

Be real with me

take your time

it's okay to be afraid

tell me your truth

because I need to know

if this could be

something real

the clock is ticking

and the sands are falling

and your time

is running out
