Hourglass

My parents keep yelling at me, telling me to pull my life together

so I get a second job, hoping they would like this better.

Yet there are only so many hours in a day,

and I can’t let them slip away.

So I go to work full time,

working for every dime.

School once a priority,

lowers behind work, secondarily.

After coming home from an eight hour shift,

I collapse on my bed, homework for me does not exist.

It seems to me, that my attempt to keep together has fell short.

In search of perfect balance,  the hourglass still falls, I, nowhere to resort.
