HOURGLASS OF PUNITY

We shatter hourglasses to fall asleep Hoping we could stop time But time keeps on "tick! tick! tick!" And see ourselves fall deep and deep and deep We take photographs yet we forget memories Our shadows smile, our faces frown Our roots are deep yet we fall like a leaf A war within, we're hate's colonies Depressed souls, suicidal notes Misplaced hopes in misguided quotes Old faults in rewinded thoughts We are actors failing to play fear's plot Broken voices in sweet songs Stricken hearts in the archer's poems Hidden story in the abstract paintings How can we understand the unspoken sentiments? When the hourglass shatters, will we fall asleep? Or will we sink in like a wrecked crawling ship? And when it all goes wrong and becomes a crime Will we reverse the sands of time?
