this house burns down slowly.

this house burns down slowly.

i watch the flames lick the sky

and think of how our relationship

went up in flames like the house.

it started as a small kitchen fire.

just one tiny fight.

then it spread to the living room

where the battle began

and the curtains caught fire.

then the fire spread to the bathroom

where the blood on the sink and mirror

turned black.

the battle turned to a war in the bedroom

where the fire touched the ceiling

and it started to cave in.

i watch the house burn down

and my hat goes off to you.
