House on a Hill
A long time ago in the land of Light
Lived a little girl, her father's delight
He would never let her out of his sight
Shielding her from the dark of the night
In the house on a hill
the girl looked out her window sill
She longed to be free to frolic and play
But forevermore she would have to stay
She dreamed of swimming in the bay
The girl begged her father, "Please I may?"
So in the house on a hill
the girl sat in front of her window sill
Then darkness comes her friend to be
Opportunity struck she snuck to the sea
Sweet freedom comes full and free
Her father's words a distant memory
By the house on the hill
The girl looked back at her window sill
The wind was blowing at her back
Waves rose up planning their attack
Her feet slipping quietly off the track
Plunging her into the inky black
Never to return to the house on the hill
No girl looked out her window sill.
