Household

A vast acreage of property,

           For one grand old man;

           Who has no use for others,

           Apart from himself.

He has his servants;

Those who work for him,

And a wife caught in the riptide,

Of a relationship she never loved.

His daughter devotes her time,

To activities in the evening,

That remove her from the household

-         Of venomous odium.

Disquiet never leaves the property,

As he indulges in his wine;

He really has no time,

To discuss the weather.
