How Am I Expected to Care?

You know I care.

Deep down

I understand,

If only you'd let me.

I want to help, only

How am I supposed to know

You shut me out.

You shut everyone out.

I want to help, only

I am not allowed

By you, by parents, by law

Why can't it be like me,

To lend a hand?
