How Can I Say I Am Okay?

When I’m not,

And my whole world comes crashing down,

Destroying everything I built

And everything my life was worth;

When I’m not,

And I’ve been wasting my time away

With the smooth, silver strokes of the knife blade

As I try to get rid of those voices in my head;

When I’m not,

And I’m lost in the dark forest

And can’t find my way out of this mess

To somehow save myself from death’s cruel hand;

When I’m not okay,

I say I’m fine anyway.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
