How Dare You!

How dare you come into my life again

I was rid of you and then you just

Waltz right back in

Evoking lost and buried feelings

How dare you make me love you

Your boyish, charming, disarming smile

Your beautiful, deadly eyes

Those smooth-talking words

How dare you hurt me

Just when I fall for you the most

Dreaming of what could never be

Like a slap of cold water, you slam me with reality

The nerve of you to reappear

You’re banished from my heart

Making me dream falsely and cry for reasons unknown

Except that because of you, we’ll never be

How dare you!
