How do I ask?

Late is what I fear

Only I wish you were here

Vague hope of what could be

Enough of this, I want thee

You sit there do you know

Or are my thoughts keeping

Unknown actions from our reality

Hopefully I still have time

And if only you would be mine

Now I am sitting here

Not knowing what I fear

All I have is one task

How do I ask?

Like a lot of love type poems, this one is about meeting someone you want to spend time with, but you have no idea how to ask them out. Maybe you fear they won't want to or they don't feel the same way. All I can say is, do it. Just tell them, because spending all that time without doing it and still wondering if you have time is much worse than them saying, "I can't."
