how do you know me

you receive messages from me, right

you receive a message from me
can you hear me saying those words
or do you even know me
do you know what my voice sounds like
not over the phone
my voice
the real me
you receive another message from me
i send back l o l
can you see me laughing
or have you never seen me smile
not a posed fake smile
a laughing smile
a real smile
the real me
you receive another message from me
i reply with a tear
can you feel my pain
real pain
crying pain
a crying face
an ugly kind of cry
the real me
you receive a message from me
it's a picture this time
you can look at it all you want
the expression won't change
i won't blink
you can look at it and judge it
but have you ever looked at me
have you ever seen the real, breathing, blinking me
do you know what i look like at 3 in the morning asleep
or 4 in the afternoon signing in my car
or maybe 10 at night when all the makeup comes off and I'm just me
do you know me
do you know what I look like
do you know what I sound like
do you know what I feel like
or what I feel
can you hear me
can you see me
can you feel me
you might have seen me
you might just know me as an avatar
you may just know me as a number
but you don't know the real me
the authentic me
