How Does a Man Know?

How does one know when He is in love?

It's that pit-pat

Rat-atat,

On his small long

Over-sized heart...

That never has some time-

Never has the rhyme

Only has her face

Drawn deep on his eyes.

Never time to stop

Never try to miss:

Not her or the

Big shallow sunset...

Only what he mustn't

For when he falls high

Then the boy falls hard

With a strongly beaten

Bass drum louder

Than the breeze and sun.

Louder than the trees

And louder than the keys

To his heart

For that jingle

And that clingle

Of romantic sounding

Golden bling

Has long since

been silenced.

If he is in fact

Doubly true-to his

Own and special loved one

That he hopes he's

Soo stricken by

But knows better than

To pursue-

For his hopes are lost again

With his: long lost heart

As he stares

And he cares

And he feels

And he sees

That he found her

The one girl

who is right-

Right for him,

And his kin,

But not for her
