How To End It

I reached out to you today

to deliver a better goodbye.

It was supposed to give me closure

and release the pain.

I'm not sure yet if it accomplished anything

because now I wait for a reply that I can't take.

Your words can never just float by

so why would I deserve your bitter agreement.
