How far

How far will I go for happiness ?

Because one day that thunderstorm is gonna clear

And that rainbow will be near

But my sorrows will always be here

How far will I reach to success?

I’ll pick up my pieces before I settle for less

A fear of falling, and crumbling into mess

But how will I know that I’ve succeeded

Working the bare minimum and never reaching as far as I’ve pleaded

Because what you put in, is what you get out

And desperate times, calls for desperate measures, am I willing to go down that route?

How far will I fall?

Giving up on “the dream” and losing it all

Waking up and hearing God mumble “it’s your call”

I can’t bare to stand still

Always out and about but never letting my wounds heal

How far will I go to win?

I’ll lie, I’ll cheat but did you forget it’s a sin

Because like Drake said “being second is only the first to lose”

If I’m never 1st, then there’s nobody there to light the fuse

How far will I go to heal?

Never letting my failures determine my worth and zipping the seal

Never covering my wounds with salt ever again, and let’s not pretend, that I’ve forgotten to forgive

Putting all my issues on the line, and forgetting to live

And somehow believing that I’ll be okay with the life in place for me

And determining “how far” I will go... just wait and see
