No one can tell you how to grow up. It just happens. You
don’t have to lose yourself to become mature. You just have to take on more responsibilities. You just have to grow as a person. And that doesn’t take away from who you are, but adds to it. You don’t have to stop creating. Growing up is about learning to think for yourself. Fundamentally, growing up is not about becoming an adult, it’s about becoming a better child. Growing up is about taking all of the values we learned and the joyful memories we shared with others in our childhood, and understanding why they were so important. Growing up is about reconciling the identities we created when we were younger with the knowledge we gained from experience as we got older. Yes, it’s a bittersweet transition, but trust me, it’s for the best.
