How I am a Poet

The people who are reading this

might be wondering why I write

People don’t see me as a poet,

But I still like to try.

I’ve written quite a few silly poems

at the amusement of my friends.

They always tell me I’m good at it.

Their laughs never seem to end!

I sometimes write when I’m feeling mad

to get my feelings out.

But usually I’m so frustrated,

no one can tell what my poem’s about!

I also have written when I’m in class,

And there’s a point that I want to make.

Poems make my ideas more humorous,

and much easier to take.

Even though people don’t realize

Just how much of a poet I am,

I just keep on writing poetry,

And I do the best I can!
