How I Miss Those Days

As kids we cry from scrapped knees We cry because that new toy every one is getting is out of our reach We cry for the least meaningful things and feel as if the world will crash down on us because of it How I miss those days I miss those days where we didn't have to worry about money I miss the days where politics didn't have an influence in my life and a piece of paper did not influence the unity of a family I miss those days in which the words gay, bisexual, or straight meant nothing to me because no one taught me to treat anyone differently Oh how I miss those days We are all the same living in a world where we have a definition for everything but ourselves Gays, bisexuals, straights, colored, whites all have different definitions I miss those days where people were people no matter where they came from or how they lived By definition we are all homo sapiens We are all one species so why do we separate ourselves and create different groups of people? We make different groups and push them away because they are not like us But they are we just need to open our eyes to see them clearly When we see them we are looking at ourselves because they are human just like us Why can't we see the world like we saw them in those days I miss those childhood days I miss when we were all the same
