How I Plead
You ask me how I plead?
Let me ask you, my friend,
Has there been a deed or a declaration
That opposes the dire discrimination
That takes over nations?
There’s a depreciation
In acceptation
Of simple love and adoration:
It’s all idolisation
Of consumerization.
Compliments get lost in translation
'Cause, now it’s all about flirtation.
There’s exploitation
And violation
Of rights. It's not right!
I don’t care if you’re big or small;
Doesn’t matter at all,
I’m just appalled
That it matters at all
If I’m black or white,
Heavy or light.
There’s no need to fight
So stop it, alright?
I say we gotta do something about
All this doubt
In the world.
I tell you, you’re fine!
The right isn’t mine
To decide
If you’re hot or not;
If you’ve got a lot or not.
Isn’t it a long shot
To allot
To people a particular
Portion of popularity and value?
Money and fame:
Is this the extent of our aims?
Why are people so afraid to
Give value
To something they can’t touch?
It’s love, my friends - as such -
Love a little, love much.
I rest my case.
