How I See Her

Location

She gaze into the mirror for a quick inspection,

Her analyzing eyes flits up and down.

I wonder what she sees in that superficial glass,

When her perusal produces a frown.

Does she see as I see her, a woman and friend,

Who’s only desire is for others pleasure?

Does she as I see, a creature so graceful and fair?

Needed by all, noticed by few, filled with the lightness of air?

Does she see as I see her,

A blossom of hope in a world choked by shadows?

Does she see as I see her, great in judgment and love,

A symbol of wisdom respected by all?

Or does she see as He sees her,

A child, innocent and pure

Plodding ever onward toward eternity?

Oh, do you not realize, lovely one?

Have your eyes been so impeded by memories of yesterday,

That you are blinded to the beauty of today?

How unmatched is her charm, her poise, her virtue,

And yet you truly cannot see?

Look beyond that unforgiving glass,

And then perhaps you will understand,

The beauty that lies in you!
