How I See Poetry

If a picture is worth a thousand words then a poem is worth a thousand pictures poetry to me is a form of art, a mural in which one picture could be a landscape filled with endless skies, forests, deserts, and fields and another picture of some object, something precious there could even be a picture of nothing at all poems contain such murals in the form of words and spaces where every word has its meaning, its place these meanings jump out to the reader taking shape they become a burning gunshot, a drop of rain, or a piece of hope poems give you the ability to see such images, such masterpieces. Poetry is a piece of your soul mended along with the ink reading poetry is to see the author staring back on the other side of the page to witness their sorrow, their hatred, their happiness, their memories. For everything that poetry is, I love it I love how it is understanding, an escape to where nothing else matters to a place of imagination, a place for emotions to live, to become.
