How I Will Make You Love Me
How I Will Make You Love Me
I’d fit my laugh into your favorite shape
Force it down your throat and
Believe I've done something good
I’d fix your eyes toward the sun
Convince you to survive in the light
Disregard the smell of charred flesh
As it burns you alive
I’d pick for you every purple flower I saw and
Babble about nature's color schemes
While you watch the petals wither to black
through the monochrome lense that blinds you
I’d pull stars from each galaxy
Place them inside your pupils to
Create a new kind of astrology in which
Phenomena consisted of every word you’ve ever spoken
I’d put halo’s on the monsters that haunt you
surround your demons in a heavenly glow
So at least you'll know when they're coming.
I’d tell you my constant need to
fix you is pronounced “love” and
Happiness is only found when
Once you have made me your idol
This is the world we live in.
Shoving puzzle pieces into
places they do not fit and
Calling it “good enough”
Staring abuse in the eye
Calling it “love”
