How I'll Make the Change

All growing up I couldn’t beat out that “C”

English was the topic that just took hold of me

I got worked up and I knew I’d never pass

But then this teacher, she just plain changed the class

English wasn’t only pronouns, verbs, and conjunctions

It was a class with a purpose, a true and known function

We read about lives, and wrote about our passions

And it all came clear to me, this seatbelt I had to fasten

I was diving in deep, falling head over heels

This class showed me who I am, I mean what a great deal

If a teacher can show me this, and I want to make a change

What better job could I go after, than the English teaching rage?

This class changed my life, and if my class could do the same

Why am I still pondering? It’s how I’ll make the change!
