how ironic

long ago, in ages past
i hear
people looked at the sky
individuals contemplated existance
the meaning of themselves
the meaning of it all
no clutter, only wonder
but then
BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY
SPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPEND
stars began to blink out,
one by one,
in order to be studied better.
how ironic.
the streets were paved of gold--
the fateful end
of river blood
collected by metal vampires.
CONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUME
DESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROY
drawing lines in the soil
lacerations in the earth
the fallen angels cry out:
"your people, sir,
will love their artificial stars
with artificial hearts
and a collective soul of plastic."
replacing blood with oil
KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL
DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE
for a better life
how ironic
walk through the streets
you see lights, i see lights
BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY
SPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPEND
replace your view of the stars
obstruct your view of the universe
redirect focus ahead but down
on superficial concerns of the reptile within
CONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUME
DESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROY
civilization
renders itself a void
progressively harder to see the light
progressively harder to
KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL
DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE
make sense of life
corrupting ideals, murdering babies
BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY
SPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPEND
for progress
how ironic
CONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUME
DESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROY
perhaps your definition differs from mine
but from what i can see
KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL
DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE
half drowning in capital, half starving in poverty
BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY
SPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPENDSPEND
culture ceases
CONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUMECONSUME
DESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROYDESTROY
earth ceases
KILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILLKILL
DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE
humanity ceases

and no one cares
how ironic
