How To Know He Loves You
You'll be able to tell he loves you,
when he asks you how your day was,
Without asking who you spent it with.
When he invites to you to his home, introducing you to his mother,
he will tell her that you are the reason he smiles at night before he falls asleep,
not why he sometimes hits the walls when no one is home.
During late night vents, where the sky seems so far away, and all of your worries seem so close,
he will hold you close and listen, he will not throw you under the bus when things seem like this is all your fault.
He realizes that he may be wrong, he may be the problem,
he does not blame you for all the worries in the relationship.
No matter what you wear, no matter how you look,
he will not ask you to change.
He will take your tears, and use them to water your worries,
the pains of your insecurites growing into the beautiful young woman you ought to be.
He won't guilt you into sex.
You won't have to "get better",
you and all of you will be enough.
You will smile when he smiles,
because you know that his love is unbreakable but is flexible.
He will raise you up, he won't hold you back.
You and all of you will be filled with immense light,
because he loves you,
and he has chosen to prove it in his actions.
