How leaves lose their color / Abu Karim

At the beginning of Kartik consuming the sense of sky

a dry wind comes down in the realm of green.

Trees feel a bit shudder at the kisses of fog;

falling down from trees some weak leaves are seen.

Keep on observing how leaves lose their green,

and you will be able to read your own destiny.

Once you will fall down from the peak of your gain

thought today you are a powerful owner not a bit tiny.

Helen, Cleopatra, a sylvan daughter Shokuntola

or even the light of life Noor Jahan have lost their beauty

and youth in dust as ordinary others.

Their deeds are taken immortal in the imagination

of poets and the brushes of artists.

From the fire of wood we produce ashes

where today a green tree exists tomorrow vanishes.

Many emperors have killed uncounted subjects

sitting on thrones with illegal whims and powers

thinking their relatives would sing of their deeds forever

and more will see their torturing  rules and countless errs,

rather people will appreciate them with applaud fast;

now their bodies feed insects under layer of dust.

From these fossils there will come out rocks, oil and gas;

for the purpose of narrating the torturing rules of them

in different ages we will have Homer, Kalidas and Bas.
