How to Let Love Be

I never knew strength until you held me in

I never knew joy till I saw you gleam

I never knew the stars could be outshined

Who knew you would be the girl of dreams

You took the silence right out of my soul

You washed my hands and made them yours

You showed the light when there was only black

Who knew you would be my heart attack

The lake mirrored your fluid joy

The sky resembled your eyes so blue

The sun mimicked your hair waved blonde

Today was the day nature grew wary of you
