How, Life.

“Look, I’m trying here”

I say with an exasperated sigh

But what they don’t know

Is the pain and strife and fear

That nestles deep in the Life of I

“I’m doing the best I can”

I say while doing it all right

But what they don’t know

Is the real reason I ran

And the busy sleepless nights

“I’m not playing you a fool”

I say pleading, tear in eye

But what they don’t know

Is that my priorities equally rule

That my work also does not lie

“Believe me, I work hard”

I say in honest brevity

But what they don’t know

Is my hands of card

And what’s there is the best of me
