How Long Must We Wait?

America, once beautiful -

When will you appear as the stories say?

With your ragged past, were you ever great?

Perhaps achieving ‘great again’ is not the way.

You await a catalyst -

A people to be great for.

Selfless, caring, peaceful,

Instead of demanding more and more.

And when we come together as one

We will finally be crowned great!

It’s up to us to make that choice:

How long will be our wait?
