How long will it hurt

I close my eyes to sleep, And I find myself in another place. not knowing what to do or say, just letting night turn into day. I watch my tears fall as another takes its place, For what seems days or years is only seconds of time. It seems so long and that is my fear. This place I find myself in I'm waitingfor the nightmare to end, so when I wake up I can be me again. But still wondering its a dream, I pay for this crime which I did not mean. I watch the world go around me, As I sit helpless and wait for the key to unlock the sadness which imprisoned me.
