I wonder if you are suffering from a break-up or depressive state right now. Poetry can be a great outlet of emotions and maturation in thinking. If you want to see the parrallelism of ideas, read other writers so that you see the effectiveness of poetry in lives of individuals. Ask yourself, "how can I make my experioence of pain or suffering original compared to Person X,Y, or Z?" Everyone can feel pain, but how do they put it into words that can touch others? Once again, I encourage you to read widely and experiment in your writing, emotions are great igniters poems. Keep on writing. Q.V.
