How My Mentor Changed Me


When I sat in small chairs surrounded by colorful classrooms and ran freely in the playground, she taught me how to sing
When I grew into my face and listened to loud music, she taught me how to play piano
When I started high school and tried to find my way through life, she hired me to work with her
When I began working and started sending in college applications, she wrote my recommendations
When I thanked her for everything and closed the car filled with suitcases and drove away, she smiled
