"how sweet the sound"

How sweet the sound that rings through these desolate halls,

They bring life back to this abandoned manor,

A duet of piano and cello.

They complement each other in a perfected beauty,

Not unlike the rainbow waving its banner in the shadowy dark of the clouds,

Seeming to show all things have a silver lining.

The tune picks up as the melody reaches its climax,

The harmony follows pursuit,

Weaving a symphony so complicated and smooth,

Like silk the fabric of true beauty,

Each corridor seems to carry its song,

As if to show the world of its magnificence,

Soon the cello slows and fades to oblivion,

Leaving the piano to continue alone.

The piano slow and smoothly sings out a sad solo,

Then too fades leaving the halls silent once more,

Oh sweet the sound of the song once song,

Reminding us all good things must end.
