How Writing Saved My Life

Before writing entered my life, I never knew how to deal with my emotions and I was headed down a dangerous path. I completly shut myself out from all my friends and intrests and never talked to anyone about anything because I was embarrassed. When I discovered I liked to write, I was relieved because I could finally express myself, get all the negative thoughts out of my head without having to worry about anyone laughing at me or judging me. Writing to me was the safest way to express all the crazy things in my head without ending up in the crazy house. I learned a lot about myself when I started writing, things I didn't know were hidden deep inside me. It helped me to discover how strong I was and exactly how much I could handle and reminded me that every time I thought I was going to break into a million little pieces, all I had to do was write whatever was in my head and I had a new outlook, a sense of relief.
