How You See Me

Took about 30 pictures, only 1 good selfie yet it's not good enough to post on instagram, yet...

Let me go update this one with a filter, which one is it going to be today?

Valencia, Mayfair, X-Pro II, Sierra, Earlybird?

Oh, let me go check out these new ones they updated my app with. Let me make sure I pick a good fit.

One that's not too obvious, one that's not too "lit."

Cause I don't wanna be up here posting selfies and only getting 30 double taps....

Matter fact, wait what's all this chit-chat?

Why is it that I have to post a selfie with a filter to have somebody drop a heart emoji in the comments, or have somebody DM me, or have somebody shout me out for free cause if you aren't rocking with 3k followers or more on what they call "IG" then in the words of teens today, "you ain't lit."

Behind those filters is me. I'm still pretty. I'm not conceited, I'm confident. I know I got it regardless.

Why do I need to pick a filter for my pic? One that's going to make me brighter or lighter because according to you light skin is the right skin and brown skin is a bad thing.

Behind that filter is a girl with a white smile, she doesn't need Sierra to make it shinier.

Behind that filter is the same vampire teeth that a filter ain't gon' hide, so it's either you take it or leave it.

And matter fact if you want me to rock a filter on every selfie, then you might as well beat it.

Because in real-life I don't have choices of filters to hide my defects, so sometimes you just have  to reflect cause these filters will really make you forget who you are.

Don't let a filter take you away from who you are, learn to love yourself so you can love your 30 selfies filter or no filter.
