howl
i wonder if they can hear me,
those gods behind the curtain
as my spirit cries the lone wolf's cry
silent to common ears
my voice is silent
while my mouth traces the shape
of the howl that soars from
my soul
so loud
that it must be shaking the spirit world
i imagine they stop and pause
those gods behind the curtain
as they hear the mournful sound
of a shattered being
coming to terms
with their new reality
so loud
so loud it is
in the ears of that place - in my ears in that place
yet no one here
can hear this cry
only those on the other side
