A Hug to My Fifteen Year Old Self

If I can go back in time to meet my fifteen year old self,

I would give her a hug and whisper in her ear that everything is going to be okay.

I will warn her about the heartbreaks,

the disappointments, and the lies that she will be told.

I will warn her about the people who she will meet along the way.

Those who will make her cry. Those who will betray her.

Those who will take advantage of her kindness.

I will warn her about the people who she will meet along the way.

Those who will make her smile. Those who will make her laugh.

Those who will give her the space to be free.

I will give her a hug and whisper in her ear that everything is going to be okay.

Self love and self worth are my hugs and by God's grace, I can say that I am okay.
