Human

Greed pulsates through our veins,

bitterness sit on our lips

and destruction lies behind long lashes.

We are driven by these unnatural impulses for which we have immense control over.

We let them define us,

completely take over our entire being

and lose ourselves in their unending cruelty.

And while this surrender occurs, we fight so diligently against the emotions we should so easily accept.

Love, locked away in the cage of a blackened heart.

Beauty, unseen by the unwilling eye

and kindness stuck in the throat of a ferocious adherent.

What are we?

What is the name of such creatures that strive for this self-destruction?

One word.

We are condensed into a single species and defined by but one word.

We are Human.
