Human
Seeing him for the first time set my heart racing,
That mesmerizing smile and those full pink lips had me spacing,
His enthralling sea blue eyes had me hazing,
And those heated dreams about him had my mind pacing,
I was infatuated.
I was left scarred when he stopped talking to me and wondering why,
He was my sun that would shine for me in the sky,
Loss of contact with him had me plummeting from my high
The open wound he left bleeding made me cry,
I was somber.
My mom finding out I am gay from reading a text was not the plan,
She directed her impudence towards me because she couldn't...wouldn't comprehend that I had feelings for another man,
The woman who birthed me wrenched what was left of my heart out with her hand,
Lashing out at others was my way of never feeling the same agony again,
I was belligerent.
I know now that my relationship with my mother will never be the same,
Leaving to attend college early will be to my gain,
Figuring out who I am and want to be in this world is my aim,
Picking up the pieces of my life and hope for the future keeps me sane,
I AM HUMAN.
