Human Bombs

White clouds,

Lying against blue,

Bright and welcoming,

Up above you,

But, as friction builds,

Gray and overbearing,

Blocking light like shields,

Like us, you me,

Bright and cheery to dark and depressing instantly,

Grow till worries fall like rain,

Last sense of happiness washing down the drain,

Light breaking through here and there,

Through cracks in the atmosphere,

Cracking, breaking, shattering,

Light shows,

Darkness scattering,

Returning calm,

No signs of the squall,

But it’s building,

Storms never yielding,

Clouding the mind,

Pushing positive thoughts behind,

Plunged into the electricity,

Acting thoughtlessly,

Lashing out,

Saying without remorse or doubt,

We act,

With pressure we’ll react,

Ticking time bomb,

Waiting to go off,

1, 2, 3,

Boom,

We’re doomed.
